Difference between Raclette and Fondue?
Raclette and fondue are both traditional Swiss dishes centered around cheese, but they have some differences in the experience.
Raclette:
Raclette is named after the semi-hard cheese used in the dish, which is also called Raclette cheese.
Raclette involves heating slices of Raclette cheese on a hot plate and scraping off the melted part onto various accompaniments.
Fondue:
Fondue involves melting cheese in a communal pot, known as a "caquelon," over a portable stove or burner.
Served with bite-sized pieces of bread, and sometimes vegetables or fruits, which are dipped into the melted cheese using long forks.
